EXPERIENCES

Graduate Research Assistant (GRA) Faculty of Science, University of Malaya.

NOVEMBER 2019 – present

     Impact-oriented interdisciplinary research (IIRG) grant award winning team under the category of innovative industry and sustainability science led by Prof. Ling Tau Chuan. Current work is on the use of microbial consortium for the immobilization into palm kernel shell (PKS) biochar to enhance soil fertility and nutrients uptake by the oil palms. I am under the supervision of Dr. Rosazlin Abdullah and Professor Ling Tau Chuan. 


Research Assistant (RA) Department of Orthopedic Surgery, Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya.

OCTOBER – NOVEMBER 2019

Supervised by Dr. Tan Sik Loo. I assisted in a small part of the project entitled “A novel investigation into the effects of MSCs secretome on fibroblasts derived from chronically inflamed synovium characteristics of Osteoarthritis (OA)''. Conducted few laboratory works such as isolation and culture of bone marrow stem cells and cell culture expansion.


Tissue Engineering Centre (TEC) Pusat Perubatan Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (PPUKM)

Internship JUNE – AUGUST 2019

Supervised by Dr. Muhammad Da`In Bin Yazid. Hands-on experience in stem cell culture particularly the Wharton’s Jelly Mesenchymal Stem Cells (WJMSCs) which includes trypsinization, subculture, MTT assay, cell seeding, cryopreservation, ICC staining and cell counting. Attended a seminar by Professor John Rasko from the University of Sydney on the current stem cell technologies.

 

Japan-Asia Youth Exchange Program    

JANUARY 2019 (INTERNATIONAL CENTRE OF BIOTECHNOLOGY, OSAKA UNIVERSITY, JAPAN).

Nominated by Prof. Ling Tau Chuan (project supervisor) for a short exchange program at Osaka University. Each participant was required to attend scientific lectures, performed experiments and presented on selected fermentation technology. I was under the supervision of Professor Kazuhito Fujiyama. 

 

Trees of Universiti Malaya-Ambang Asuhan Jepun (UM-AAJ)

FEBRUARY 2017 (UNIVERSITY OF MALAYA)

Performed identification and tagging of trees and herbs species around specified location within the campus and placed species tags. I worked with a team of enthusiastic volunteers to ensure the completion of the assigned tasks. 

 

Sales assistant

FEBRUARY 2014 – APRIL 2015 (LEA CENTRE, PERMYMALL MIRI)

     Assisted the sales and achieved target sales monthly.  Labelled and arranged new incoming stocks and updated the stock inventory. Restocked replenished items and ensure the cleanliness of the store. Attended brands training to familiarise with the products.
