Being sick for a week

Hello readers, I hope all of you are doing just fine. Semester 2 of year 3 ended 4 weeks ago and I am now resting at home instead of going for internship. I am supposed to complete my industrial training during this semester break but things happened and I couldn't avoid them. But, I am really glad that I decided to go back home because I had been missing my family so much. I had to stay in campus during the last semester break to take care of my oil palms. They were growing really well and that gave me strength to complete the research.

However, 2 weeks after the break I had a really bad fever, like a really bad ass ones throughout my entire life. I was typing my dissertation in the living room when the fever started and I thought it would be just a normal one so I did not put much attention to it. Few days later, it started to get worse to the point that I vomited and fainted a several times. I was unable to really move around due to the dizziness. I lose my appetite and everything I tasted, felt very salty. The saltiness (according to Dr. Google, may be caused by infections that occur in the mouth).

Seeing my conditions, mom and aunt took me to the hospital and I was diagnosed with early symptoms of hypoglycemia. hypoglycemia is a condition where blood glucose level is below the optimum level which normally causes dizziness, nauseous, rapid or fast heartbeat etc. Having fever along made my condition worse, ugh. Mom took me to 2 different clinics, and emergency and trauma department at the hospital to get different opinions from the doctors on my conditions.

The third visit to the clinic, I was given an injection (maybe a glucose injection) right at the butt, sigh. The medications I had to consume were Avarin (Simethicone 300 mg, Alverine Citrate 60 mg), paracetamol (I tried not to consume this much because it is not good for the kidneys), Amoxicillin/antibiotics (250 mg), chlorpheniramine (4 mg) and a mouthwash. I was also advised to take sugary drinks in case if I ever feel dizzy again and that was exactly what mom brought me every morning after I passed out. I couldn't be more thankful for her. I love her.

I was glad to be at home at times of sickness like this. Imagine what would happen if I chose to do internship especially at somewhere far from home. I would be helpless. I recovered few days after my last visit to the clinic, but pimple-like rashes started to appear on my face. However, those were just normal rashes that will appear after a very high fever according to Dr. Google.

Now, I am putting my effort into completing my thesis and summarising it for publication. I'll share more about my thesis and the publication soon!
