Kolej Matrikulasi Sarawak(since 2013) is a new college under Kementerian Pelajaran Malaysia. It is located in Taman Perindustrian Sejingkat, Kuching. But even though it is new, this college is not yet has its own solid site. We are currently staying in SMT Sejingkat until we have the solid site where the new College will be developed. Currently this college has only 140+ students, compared to other colleges which have 2500+ students. How small is that. But that benefits us because it makes learning easier. Why ? Well, the lecturers know everyone of us, which makes us comfortable to ask them questions. Not like big colleges, the lecturers are hardly recognise their students.
About the hostel, each room is occupied with 10 people! And doubled-bed. The first time I got here, i was so devastated, I couldnt believe about it! Because I asked my brother who studied in Labuan Matriculation college about their hostel, and each room is only occupied by 4 ppl maximum. Things are so different in my college. But I get used to it, it feels good living in a hostel with lots of people, where you can have more genius people in one room hahah( easy to ask how to solve questions in your assignment hehe).
Moving on to the subjects offered in this college, this college only offers science subjects for One- Year Programme. Which are Biology , Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics and Science Computers. Students are allowed to take only 4 subjects and it depends on their will to decide the module that they want. There are 3 modules in Matriculation which are module one( Bio, Phys, Chem, and maths), module two ( Phys, Chem, maths, Science Computer) and module Three ( Bio, Chem, maths And Science computer).
As you can see, Chemistry and Mathematics are compulsory to take. There will be English, Kemahiran Dinamika, and Kokurikulum as well, but the grades you obtain in the finals for these subjects will not be included in your CGPA. Only the grades you got with your four subjects depending on your desired module. Ahh I forgot to tell that in one-year programme, there will be 2 semesters.!

Now lets talk about examination.
For English, in Semester 1 you'll be taking MUET( MALAYSIAN UNIVERSITY ENGLISH TEST) in which your ability to function in English language will be tested and there are 6 bands. ( Band 1 is the worst and Band 6 is the most excellent). I got Band 4 which is pretty satisfying. :)
Also, in semester One, there will be mid-semester examination(UPS 1) and Final examination(PSPM 1) and Semester 2, mid-sem( UPS 2) and finals (PSPM 2) . The pointers you obtain in both finals are so crucial! As they will be added and the average will be calculated , and that will be your CGPA. An excellent CGPA enables you to take Critical courses in University such as medical, dentistry and so on. I guess my entry today ends here. I will be uploading some pictures of in my next entry. Stay tuned and please subscribe. ;) thanks!
